Foundation hosts record number of trialists

The Bachar Houli Foundation (BHF) welcomed a record-breaking number of triallsts on Sunday, March 29 for their State Junior Boys Trial Day.

97 Islamic boys aged between 12 and 14-years-old packed the Swinburne Centre on a Sunday morning to vie for their spot in this year’s State Junior Boys Academy in Victoria.

 

Participants were divided into groups to play two games, with each given an opportunity across different positions to showcase their talent and skills on the day.

The final squad of 24 was chosen from these two games played on Punt Road Oval.

 

The BHF welcomed a record-breaking number of triallists for the 2026 edition of this Academy.

Running for over 10 years now, Head of BHF Programs & High-Performance Ahmed Saad said, “It’s great to see emerging talent right across our communities.”

“Particularly here in Victoria, the quality of talent continues to increase, and we were pleased to host the highest number of trialists for a State Junior Boys Trial Day in our history,” Saad said.

“We look forward to working closely with the successful participants over the next 12 months as part of their State Academy.”
