Darwish ready for Tasmania clash

Moustafa Darwish looks ahead to the BHF's game against Tasmania.

The Bachar Houli Foundation’s (BHF) Talent League side will take on the Tasmania Devils at North Hobart Oval on Sunday, July 5, in its second and final Talent League match of the 2026 season.

After weeks of preparation, Moustafa Darwish says the squad heads into the clash full of confidence.

Darwish said the group is looking forward to the opportunity.

“The feeling within the group heading into Tasmania is pretty good. We’re pretty confident in the work that we’ve done outside of the (Bachar Houli) Foundation to prepare ourselves for another Talent League game, and hopefully we’ll get the result that we’re looking for,” he said.

For Darwish, representing the BHF is about more than football, giving players an opportunity to compete at the highest level and showcase their ability.

“The opportunity that the Bachar Houli Foundation has meant to me is seeing my mates get opportunities they might not have had at other Talent League clubs. It’s good to see them put their skills out there, and show everyone what we know they’re capable of,” he said.

Darwish said the playing group is determined to put together a strong performance against Tasmania.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to show how much we’ve developed since our last game. The boys have put in a lot of work, we’re ready to compete, and hopefully that hard work shows on game day,” he said.

He also encouraged the BHF community to get behind the team.

“I encourage everyone supporting us to tune in because you won’t be disappointed. You’ll see a good brand of football from all of us, which is exciting.”

The clash against Tasmania provides another valuable opportunity for the Foundation’s emerging footballers to test themselves against elite opposition and continue showcasing the talent within the program.
