BHF Academy to feature in 2026 Talent League season

The Bachar Houli Foundation (BHF) National Senior Boys Academy will feature in the Talent League for the first time.

The AFL has confirmed the fixtures for the 2026 Talent League season.

The Bachar Houli Foundation (BHF) National Senior Boys Academy will feature in the Talent League for the first time.

The Academy features promising Islamic footballers aged 15 to 18-years-old and has produced three AFL players across the past two years in Saad El-Hawli, Hussien El Achkar, and Adam Sweid.

The BHF’s campaign will be highlighted by two interstate trips, with the National Senior Boys Academy set to take on the GWS Giants Academy in Round 6 at Blacktown International Sportspark, and the Tasmania Devils in Round 16.

Details for the Round 16 clash against Tasmania Devils are TBC.

Head of BHF Programs & High-Performance Ahmed Saad said “we’re really excited to be entering the Talent League this season.”

“Our Academy players will now have the chance to showcase their talents in the premier under-18s competition, competing and representing our community at the highest level,” Saad said.

“This achievement is a testament to the incredible emerging talent in our community and to the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes at BHF over the past 10 years.”

The Talent League is the premier underage football pathway competition for boys and girls in the eastern states of Australia, with teams comprised mostly of under 18 players.

Both boys and girls competitions feature 12 full-time programs from Victoria, along with the Tasmania Devils.
