David Teague offers insight to 24 aspiring coaches

David Teague led a development session for the Bachar Houli Foundation's (BHF) aspiring Muslim coaches at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in June.

Returning as the BHF’s Coaching Pathways Program Lead for 2025, Teague boasts 17 years of coaching experience across various AFL and VFL clubs.

Held at the MCG in June, Teague led a development session for 24 aspiring Muslim coaches, providing invaluable insights from his career.

The day was centred around workshops and exercises intended to provide practical skills and takeaways for coaches to apply at their local or representative level.

Ahmed Saad said “It’s amazing for the Foundation to have someone like David offer his insights and experiences.”

“He was amazing for our coaches last year, and I am enthusiastic about what he will provide for a larger cohort this year, and beyond that in their respective fields,” Saad said.

Teague travelled with the BHF’s Elite Performance Academy to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) late last year. The Elite Performance Academy is an advanced year-long program for top Senior Academy participants, combining elite football development with identity, leadership and cultural immerson-highlighed by the eight-day international camp in the UAE.

He will look forward to being part of the National Senior Boys Academy later this year, mentoring the best group of talented 15 to 18-year-old Islamic footballers from across Australia.
