Two former BHF participants and Islamic College of Sport alumni Adam Sweid (drafted to Fremantle) and Hussien El Achkar (drafted to Essendon) feature in a uplifting new documentary ‘Playing on a Prayer’ by ABC Australia, airing now on ABC iview.

Playing on a Prayer was produced by award-winning ABC journalist and filmmaker Paul Kennedy.
Kennedy has been a journalist for 30 years. His six books include bestsellers Hell on the Way to Heaven (with Chrissie Foster) and the memoir Funkytown, and his various documentaries include the award-winning Bradman and Tendulkar.
Adam Sweid is an explosive small midfielder/forward who was an All Australian at the 2025 National Championships. After missing 2024 with an ACL injury, Sweid was named in the 2025 Coates Talent League team of the year after averaging 25 disposals in 13 games. He was a participant in Bachar Houli Academies since the age of 12. Sweid was selected with the Fremantle Football Club’s first selection in the 2025 National Draft.
Hussien El Achkar, an Essendon Next Generation Academy (NGA)/James Hird Academy participant, landed at the Bombers with pick No. 53. In 2025, the livewire forward was a stand-out performer for the Calder Cannons in the Coates Talent League, booting 28 goals from 11 outings to finish equal-fourth in the competition’s goal-kicking ranks, and leading goal kicker for his side. He was a participant in Bachar Houli Academies since the age of 12.
